TOWNSHIP BOARD THINKS CULTURAL CENTER LEGITIMATE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT
Ho Ho Ho, The election is over, so it is now safe to dispense with pretense of fiscal conservatism. Even Gordy Bunch has joined the Porkfest in the latest plan for plunder in south county.
We read.
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors is continuing to explore the possibilities of creating a cultural arts center in the community and provided guidance for a request for proposals for a feasibility study to township staff during its Thursday meeting.
No protest from the resident advocates we grew to love
This is almost sidesplitting!
Candidates displaying the logo as a pledge to represent “Residents First” are Laura Fillault, Matthew Burton, and Director John McMullan who say they are responding to these undue influences on Township business and finances.
$250 K for a study. I need a job. Give me $50K and I can tell you its a bad idea.
Resident Advocates, we give you five minutes and a checkbook. Seriously?
The only murmur that could be mistaken for restraint was from Jeff Long.
Board Member Jeff Long questioned why the township was funding the entire cost of the study when it would be a “regional” center. Bass said it hadn’t been determined if the facility would be a regional center.
Correction:
I misread this from McMullan.
“Couple of months ago we had a presentation from a bunch of folks that were very interested in this,” he said. “Might be worth seeing if we can ‘pass the hat’ to see if we can get some of those folks to help fund the study cost.”
But we still want to know, why bother? this is not a project for tax dollars at any point.
