Texas oil industry cutting payroll amid slowdown

Texas employers added 30,100 jobs over the month. Over the year, the state added 297,100 jobs, an increase of 2.4 percent. Texas energy companies are cutting their workforces amid sluggish growth in the sector, according to jobs data from the Texas Workforce Commission released Friday.
