  1. I am just disgusted with what’s going on at the shelter! Where are the people who are getting paid to help these animals? Why are the commissioners doing Nothing? Why is taxpayer money being wasted and animals not getting adopted or even seen? Why are the animals being treated so inhumanely? I’m sick about this.

  2. This facility is NOT a shelter. No kindness, care, attention, love – nothing is given to these animals except abuse. Please close this if the situation cannot be rectified.

  3. Why Why is this happening? It is very obvious from the reports what is going on. This shows total neglect, abuse and YOU who are responsible are not going to get away with this. Animal abuse will not be tolerated, we will fight on because they have no voice, but be warned….we do.

  4. How much suffering has to happen before someone takes notice and does something about it. As a Taxpayer, I am appalled a Director/Vet can’t or won’t treat the animals in his care, yet doesn’t hesitate to take a pay check .

  5. As a weekly volunteer at the shelter I have witnessed all of these. It is infuriating to watch animal abuse while Dr. Hayden gets paid to not vet our poor animals and staff doesn’t even bother to speak to potential adopters. I get asked often where to go, what to do, how to find certain dogs and I am just a volunteer. Staff doesn’t assist reputable volunteer organizations and we on average get 25-50 dogs/cats adopted each weekend at various events. The dogs are waiting 6 months to get spayed/neutered which is the main reason we have the structure in place. Our job is to prevent unwanted litters and euthanasia of unwanted animals so adopting out unaltered animals further exacerbates the issue. I am a reputable psychotherapist in the area (apparently many people are being unheard because the county doesn’t think they are “intelligent” or worth listening to). Maybe that will change. Jim Clark is the commissioner behind all of this, remember when voting time comes!

    1. Thank you Danielle for hanging in there with MCAS. It’s a tragedy, a horrendous failure on the part of Montgomery Co. to allow this shelter to fall back in to the hell it was already pulled out of not once, but twice, and then snatched away again. The animals are suffering as are the people who care that they are. If I were a tax payer in Montgomery Co., I’d be in total revolt mode.
