Montgomery County Clerk offers improved PROPERTY ALERT at no extra charge.
From County Clerk Brandon Steinmann
Exciting News
As your Montgomery County Clerk, I am thrilled to announce an upgraded property fraud alert program to help you keep your property secure! I am providing this service for free and with no expense to the taxpayer. In 2023, my office rolled out a fraud alert program called FraudSleuth. However, signing up was often complicated due to its connection to our older system. While those with FraudSleuth accounts will still have coverage, I encourage you to create a new account with the new program called “Property Alert.” Please note that our software vendor is unable to transfer accounts from FraudSleuth due to security concerns regarding user passwords. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I believe the new Property Alert system will be much easier to navigate.
You can register for Property Alert here: https://montgomery.tx.publicsearch.us/register
As a reminder, any property fraud alert program in Texas will only notify you after a document has been
recorded. This gives you valuable time to respond if you encounter any unfamiliar documents.
(IMPORTANT: If you believe you are a victim of fraud, we urge you to contact the Montgomery County
Sheriff’s Office at (936) 760-5871.)
But there’s more…
Bonus News
Searching Montgomery County’s official public records just got a lot easier!
Our search engine has undergone a major upgrade, allowing you to find the documents you need more quickly and efficiently. Check out the new search engine here: https://montgomery.tx.publicsearch.us/
Free Service
My mission is to safeguard your documents and ensure they are accessible for your future needs. Our new search engine supports that mission by allowing you to view and print your documents at home for no charge, unlike many counties in Texas that charge for online access.
Better Service Thanks to advancements in technology, this upgraded search engine no longer limits you to searching by state-mandated indexed words. Instead, an AI program called “OCR” (Optical Character Recognition) enables you to find any word within the document you are seeking.
Personalized Service
For your convenience, there is a live chat assistant available 24/7 to help you. Additionally, be sure to explore the FAQs and webinars provided by our software vendor, GovOS, for tips on using the new search engine, Cloud Search.
