CONROE ISD ALLOWS LGBTQ DAY OF SILENCE TO RUN ITS COURSE

The Conroe ISD Student College Park Gay-Straight Alliance group will observe the DAY OF SILENCE initiative of the pro lesbian/ gay education alliance GLSEN.  This year the DAY OF SILENCE  where students take a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools falls on April 15th, and marks the tenth year it has been observed at Conroe ISD according to Deputy Superintendent of Schools Kurt Null.

The initiative, which  is alleged to be student led is promoted on the CISD club webpage of College Park Gay-Straight Alliance   sponsored by College Park Social Studies and History Teacher Cara Pearson-Pratho.

On the website today we read – “Day of Silence — April 15th! Don’t forget! A meeting will be scheduled to discuss other events TBA”.  Pearson-Pratho could not be reached for comment by email at time of this report.

In the report below by the Illinois Family features a spokesman for   Americans for Truth about Homosexuality  who states day of silence is a “Massive Pro-gay Propaganda exercise – teaching one side of the gay issue to impressionable kids”

It is recommended by some for Christian students to skip school on the “Day of Silence”.
