Dear Taxpayer,

Montgomery County is among the fastest bloating counties in Texas. Our salaries are among the highest. We ignore most problems until they they gain critical mass and threaten your livelihood. We intend to keep taxing and spending until the very end. However, do not lose heart. We your commissioners have heard your groaning and crying and have determined to reduce your tax rate.

As reported in the Courier today, although we are increasing the budget and increasing the amount of actual dollars you send to maintain us in the lifestyle to which we have grown accustomed we have found a way, via smoke and mirrors to disingenuously announce we are saving you an average of $27.00 per year.

Now shut up and get back to work.
