Golden Hammer – After being denied entrance to the Commissioners Court meeting room last week with a golden foam rubber hammer, Woodlands-based attorney Eric Yollick was allowed to bring the hammer into court for a presentation during public comment.

Yollick developed the Golden Hammer Award as a way to shed light on what he believes is overspending by commissioners that is “hammering” taxpayers. He presented the hammer to Meador in regard to an administrative assistant employed by Precinct 1 who makes $129,470 a year, including $19,058.40 in overtime pay, according to county records.
