IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE RESULTS,VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, AGAIN!

After a bizarre two hours, Woodlands board OKs letter of support for CISD bond ‘A’

Excerpts from CONROE COURIER with critical inserts added to reflect the actual Township Board Meeting of October 17, 2019.

Null

CISD superintendent Curtis Null made a hasty and unplanned visit to a Township Board meeting in progress after Director Ann Snyder (who is running for re-election) whipped out her cellphone in the middle of a Township board meeting, pushed the button direct to Null’s phone, and demanded Null attend the meeting in progress.

Snyder

Director Snyder, was refusing to accept an initial vote of 4 to 3 by the seven board members who rejected the resolution of support for the CISD $650 million bond proposition, a lower-cost but equally-bloated attempt to replace the $807 million bond voters rejected in May. Snyder then stormed from her seat and began to make a frantic cellphone call to Conroe ISD Superintendent Curtis Null, who was at a high school football game. She requested he immediately come to the board meeting and do an unplanned for presentation on the bond that was not on the board’s agenda. (If you don’t like the results, Vote, Vote, Vote again.”)

After an unusual debate between directors over a proposed resolution of support for the latest CISD bond proposition before voters in the Nov. 5 election. The Woodlands Township Board of Directors devoted almost two hours to discussion, debate — and Null’s unplanned presentation — eventually approving a resolution of support for the proposition “A” $650 million bond. Bunch

After the resolution of support was initially rejected 4-3, the board re-voted and approved it in a 5-2 decision. (Note – This also marks the second time Chairman Gordy Bunch has abandoned his original position to get a vote passed – the 2020 Tax Rate and $650 million CISD School Bond.
