Early election results are in for Montgomery County, and more than 56 percent of the 16,402 early votes were against the county’s controversial $350 million road bond package.
Election Day results have yet to be posted.
During early voting, 9,194 votes were cast against the road bond, with more than 7,700 votes cast in The Woodlands (Precinct 3), where there was heavy opposition to a $22 million Precinct 2 project that would extend Woodlands Parkway from FM 2978 to Texas 242. There were 7,208 early votes cast for the bond.
The $256.75 million Montgomery ISD bond received a resounding yes from early voters, with 79.34 percent (2,473 votes) for it. While the $173 million New Caney ISD bond received yes votes from 56.84 percent (486) of early votes.
