COUNTY JUDGE FACES POSSIBLE SUSPENSION

County Judge Craig Doyal faces review for possible suspension by the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct in the wake of indictment for misdemeanor violation of the Texas open Meetings Act according to the Courier of Montgomery County

Suspension for a County Judge under similar charges has just occurred in Smith County where County Judge Joel Baker was recently suspended and replaced by Smith County Court at law Judge Floyd Getz.

The Smith County case has  far more wrinkles in that Judge Baker ironically was himself a member of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct but resigned after a “SEXTING” scandal.

The Courier report quotes County Attorney’s office stating “there are significant differences in the statutes under which each judge was indicted, and that could be a factor in whether Doyal faces suspension.”

Its difficult to tell where this is going. But perhaps suspension is a real possibility.
