Ezekiel 2:6 Be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks
- YOLLICK STORY DRAWS WELL DESERVED ATTENTION
- MEANWHILE COURIER GENERATES ANOTHER IRRELEVANT PUFF PIECE
- METTS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SHOULD STEP DOWN
Fox 26 has has finally broken the simmering story of the sexual harassment in Montgomery County to the greater Houston audience. The case involving Justice of the Peace James Metts and a female employee and the subsequent hush money settlement approved by commissioners court has been dished out in long hand by Eric “Bulldog” Yollick over at TheGoldenHammer . Scrutiny of the case and deserving recognition of Yollick’s work on this case work has been delayed in large part thanks to the apparent refusal of the only widely recognized daily newspaper of record in this county, the Courier of Montgomery County formerly know as the Conroe Courier.
OBLIVIOUS ANDY OR PURE PUFF?
While Yollick had been hammering the case in a series of posts published over several week Courier Editor Andy Dubois has been sitting on his hands or something and has completely ignored this important story.
Its a complete disgrace that the evidently oblivious Andy Dubois dispatched cub reporter “Sweetie Pies served as Saturday’s location for a unity rally for candidates running for positions in the Montgomery County general election.”
to attend Metts’ Unity Rally and Campaign Kick off where McAdams filed the following hard-hitting and penetrating reportCAPTIVE PRESS?
Strictly speaking, a captive press is one where government uses and abuses its power to stifle and censor the freedom of the press. What are we to make of the lack of investigation in the case at hand by the Courier. The only answer is that the is is self inflicted captivity derived from wanting to please men and power figure that one is too close to or too fond of. or perhaps jealous of being scooped by a mocking blogger on a daily basis, who know for sure.
One thing is for sure, this case has truly shone a light on the irrelevance of the courier are a reliable watchdog.
Forget about print for a moment, The two leading news websites in the county are the Courier which presently ranks as the 79,000th most popular website in America followed by Montgomery County Police Reporter which actually ranks higher at 57,000th most visited ( by the way, The Police Reporter has also neglected to report on this story for other reasons ) then little old TheGoldenHammer has clawed its way up from zero 12 months ago to a very respectable 220,000th ranking by doing the work other Americans wont do, REPORT!
I don’t happen to think the Courier will be around for much longer anyhow but why prolong the agony, Please Andy turn in your resignation.
