Most of us don’t have a real understanding of what infrastructure costs and how we contribute to it. Even our local leaders don’t factor in the long-term costs of infrastructure expansion. They just keep building in order to scrape by a little longer.

The illusion of wealth has become a way of life for Americans. We’re not as rich as we like to tell ourselves we are.
